SYNOPSIS
The first documentary on a German football player covering a period of 8 years. The Junior International Thomas Broich is a hope for the future between Schweinsteiger and Podolski in 2004. Broich loves life, literature, moral & ethic thoughts and soon is considered the different football player. He gets difficulties with authoritarian coaches. Being different turns against him, his career starts to fail. He gets symptoms of depression. In 2010 he escapes the big football to Australia, gets new hope and once more starts to celebrate football. He wins the Championship and gets second place in the election of Australia’s Footballer of the year 2011.
DIRECTOR
Born 24.01.72 in Bonn. Studies in French & Italian Philology and Law – University of Bonn. From 1990 on – working as journalist for “Bonner Illustrierte“, “Bonner General-Anzeiger“etc. From 2003 on - working as freelance producer, director and author for several TV-stations, companies and film projects.
